Minister for planning & coordination, Vety & AH, Parliamentary affairs T.R. Zeliang said government has allotted 30 lakhs for land demarcation and another 15 lakhs for developmental work to be carried out in an around new Peren district.
Zeliang disclosed the new Peren district headquarter site road construction and blacktopping work was done under urban development department with an estimated cost of `2 crore.
With regard to drafting of master plan for development of new district headquarter; Zeliang said government would seek innovative ideas from retired officers, political leaders and officers from Peren district and urged people of Peren to cooperate with the government for speedy development of new model township of district headquarter.
He was addressing Zeliang Officers Association Peren (ZOAP) at the mass tree plantation programme on May 14 at new district headquarter site Peren. The programme was organised in collaboration with district administration Peren, contractor and suppliers Union Peren Unit, DEF Peren, 9th IRB Saijang and forest department Nagaland.
T.R. Zeliang encouraged Zeliang officers to be sincere for the future of new Peren district.
He also reminded the officers that first chief secretary and first IAS hailed from Zeliang community and observed that the Zeliang in general are not illiterate.
Around 80 Zeliang officers from state thronged the entire stretched area of Peren district and planted around 2000 sapling of trees.
Earlier, president, Zeliang officers association Nagaland and additional director IPR Pausui Zeliang presided the interactive session and also delivered vote of thanks. Peren Unit NPF President Denis and Disuang also shared their views in the function.
