Entry forms for the 3rd Music Awards of Nagaland instituted by the Native Trax society are now being issued throughout Nagaland. The music awards of Nagaland aims to encourage and honour recording singers, musicians and others connected with the music business such as sound engineers, video directors and producers by presenting music awards in various genres of music and also in different aspects of music production. The ultimate aim is to elevate the quality of music produced within the state and bring it as par with the best in the world.
The selected entries will be telecast on local channels and will also be hosted on MAN website http://mvan.coolpage.biz from where they can be viewed and downloaded.
Entries can be in either audio or video format, in English or any local dialect including Nagamese. This year, all entries will be grouped together by genre and there will be no separate local dialect categories as in previous years.
In addition to the existing five genres viz pop, rock, rap & hip hop, gospel and folk fusion, there will be one more category – open category. This category has been introduced in order to accommodate those songs which do not fall into any of the other five genres. Awards will also be presented for song of the year, best video, best sound engineer and best producer.
The winners in various genres and the top five achievers in the POM campaign will be given the chance of a free recording in the Native Trax Volume-II video album to be produced by the Native Trax Society.
