David Beckham indulges in traditional East End dish

May 24, 2011 | by admin

Finger liquor good … David Beckham adds vinegar to his lunch.
David could afford to live on Lobster Thermidor for the rest of his life. But the footie ace gets his biggest culinary kicks spending a few quid on a plate of pie, mash and liquor.
The former England captain once again indulged his craving for the traditional East End dish on his latest trip back to Britain.
He visited his favourite greasy spoon, Tony’s Pie-N-Mash in Waltham Abbey, Essex, and tucked into a double helping of the traditional fare.
He posted a snap of himself preparing to feast on his favoured treat, writing on Facebook: “Landed back in London this morning”.
“Missed my favourite meal, so headed straight for some pie and mash. Heading up to Manchester tomorrow, can’t wait.”
It’s not the first time Becks has gone back to his food roots in recent months.
In February, he bought the entire Tottenham squad and management a pie and mash lunch as a thank you for letting him train with them.
Last year it was reported the LA Galaxy star had teamed up with chef pal GORDON RAMSAY to open up their own pie and eel shop, registering the name PM Restaurant.
