State government has cautioned officers and staffs to attend the office on all working Saturdays failing which necessary action would be initiated as per rules. “It has been observed with concern that the attendance of officers and staff in the Nagaland civil secretariat is found to be very thin on working Saturdays,” a government circular stated Tuesday. Further, it reminded all government employees that all Saturdays except second and fourth Saturdays were declared as working days vide notification dated February 9, 2011. However, the government has noted that many government employees including senior officers and HODs were not attending the office on those working Saturdays. “This trend wherein most offices wear a deserted look on working Saturdays has been viewed very seriously by the government,” the circular stated.
