Three young artists of Nagaland have been selected by NEZCC, Dimapur, to be awarded the ‘Young Talented Artistes Awards’ 2010-2011 under its scheme of recognition to young talented artists in the North East Region.
These awards are instituted by the centre with the aim to identify and encourage the young talents for further creative pursuits. Selection of the young talents for the awards is made every year from the recommendations made by the state art & culture departments.
The award contains a cash component of `10000 and a citation. The awards will be distributed by K. Kughazhe Yeputhomi, director, art & culture, Nagaland, at State Library, Kohima on May 27, 11am.
The selected young artists for the awards are Thungbemo (painting), Neichüsalhou Tepa (painting), and Athrong Yimchunger (painting).
