Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael leaves a clinic in Santa Monica after being treated for ‘suspicious’ growths in his colon.
Lindsay Lohan has been comforting her father after he suffered a cancer scare. The troubled actress, currently under house arrest, urged Michael Lohan to seek treatment after learning ‘suspicious’ growths had been found in his colon. Lohan, 51, was spotted leaving a medical centre in Los Angeles after having the growths removed, at Lindsay’s urging. The controversial reality TV star told MailOnline it was his famous daughter who had encouraged him to get the treatment when she visited him shortly before her incarceration. He said: ‘I told Lindsay on Sunday and she said “get this sorted out now dad”.’ The news is sure to worry Lindsay, who lost her paternal grandfather Richard to stomach cancer two years ago. He had also suffered from colon cancer. Lohan added the whole family have been supportive of him: ‘My whole family, my boys, Dina everybody has been unbelievable. In terrible times, the family comes together.’ Lindsay is currently under house arrest at her home in Venice, California, after pleading no contest to stealing a gold necklace from a jeweller. She will also complete 240 hours of community service. Speaking exclusively after his procedure, her father said: ‘I had three polyps (abnormal growths) in my colon and they can become cancerous’. ‘It’s been going on for a year and I’ve not followed up as I should have. Then I received a call bringing to my attention they’re what they call ‘suspicious’.’ Lohan said he was ‘out cold’ in surgery for two hours as a doctor cut out the growths.
