The 6th education and career fair organized by North East Education Council (NEEC) one of the north east leading independent education fair organizers kick-started on June 3 at IMC hall, Dimapur.
The fair is being organized with the aim to give appropriate information to students who wants to explore their interest for future career.
Around 24 colleges and universities from different parts of the country are participating in this fest.
A fair number of students as well as parents turned up on the first day to inquire and know what the colleges and universities have to offer.
The organizers have linked up with various institutes and colleges so students can directly meet the college representatives who can give the exact details of the scholarship schemes, educational loan assistance, past recruiters, placements records at the venue.
The organizer of the fair, Suresh Singh said the fair is a big open platform of information and knowledge for the educational institution and the students and parents seeking mutual benefits for their own interest.
“We want to create transparency in the education system and also act as an interface between educational institutes and the students” said Singh.
One of the students who visited the fair said “Education fest is important because it gives us the opportunity to know our scope before we go for higher education and also gives us the opportunity to know more about the college before we take admission”.
Chahieng Nyusou a Naga representing the Informative Management Academy, New Delhi said professional courses may not be the preferred choice of the Nagas as many Nagas prefer government jobs, and articulated it was time Nagas change their mindset in order to compete with the developing cities.
Most of the participating institutions said the fair was not organized to simply admit students or for publicity but to educate the people especially students about the courses or scholarships they can avail and to instruct them so that they don not fall prey to bogus advertisements and publicity.
It may be mentioned that all the participating colleges and universities are government recognized.
North East Education Council education and career fair would conclude on June 4 and the organizers are expecting a bigger turnout on the concluding day.
