NE Highway Star 2nd round recording

The 2nd voting round video recording of the mega singing event, NE Highway Star voice hunt 2011 was held at IMC Hall, Dimapur on Tuesday.  After the promotional concert cum elimination round of NE Highway Star 2011 held at Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong on June 2, 16 selected contestants from Nagaland, Assam and Meghalaya Tuesday went through the second round recording which would be telecast on NE TV on June 12 from 6pm to 7pm.  The names of the contestants are: Akup Phom, Geetu, Samuel, Hentick and Velakho (Nagaland). Lakersha, Evanisha, Tina, Ribakerdor, Shibor, Vanessa, Phira, Eliphas, Bansharai and Johny  (Meghalaya), and the lone contestant from Assam (Guwahati) Abhijeet.  Voting for the contestants will start from June 12. Each voting card has been priced `5 and would  be available at all leading stores.  The panel of judges for the event was David Goldsmith vocal from Axis Band Guwahati, Mhathung Odyuo bassist from Divine Connection and winner of MTV Desibeat Rock On and Tsali Sangtam managing director NE Highway Star Society Dimapur. This year’s prize money will be a hefty sum of `3 lakhs along with an album contract for top 6 finalists.  Event partners and supporters are: publishing partner – Eastern Publication House, Dimapur, Radio Partner Red FM 93.5, media partners – Shillong, Peitngor, Kynjatshai, Rupang, Net Vision.
