In a case of rash and negligent driving, one driver of a Maruti car bearing registration number NL03/1632 hit a jawan of 9th NAP (IR) Bn who was on patrolling duty at supermarket area inuring him and damaging his service rifle before ramming the vehicle at the parked bus of the unit on June 7. The driver was identified as Kitoho Achumi, 38 years, son of Hetozhe Achumi of Satakha village, Zumheboto and a resident of 4th mile, Dimapur. Police said the driver was coming from the wrong direction of the road. A case of rash and negligent driving causing grievous hurt and endangering a life was registered against the offending driver.
