Hiyo Café would soon be venturing into the entertainment segment by organizing its first musical and dance event at Niathu Resort, Dimapur on June 18, 6pm. The evening will be a promising musical and dance event with Nise Meruno, Zowe Madrigal and Alobo Naga and the band and students of Hope Centre for Excellence performing for the crowd. While interacting with media persons, the organizer and musicians said people can expect to hear popular songs (which they usually hum) in a different way; the music will be a fusion of folk, classic, contemporary, original songs basically music which every age group can relate to. Over the years various Naga musicians have excelled in the field of music and had the perform alongside renowned musicians from across the globe. However, during interaction, the musicians echoed saying that given proper funds and platform, musicians in Nagaland could excel. Nise Meruno a celebrated musician had performed thrice for the President of India including shows throughout the country and abroad. Very soon Nise will be leaving for Delhi to perform at the Habitat Center on June 21, and Neemrana Music Foundation, a registered, national nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organisation in the field of classical music who believe in the mandate to build bridges of understanding between different cultures, on invitation from the France Embassy on June 25. Alobo Naga and the band also recently participated at the National Short Film Festival at Guwahati and their song ‘Painted dreams’ was selected as the theme for the festival. This renowned band of Nagaland is the first in north east to have a turntablist. It must be mentioned that all the musicians who would be performing are certified musicians and have acquired acclamation from all over India and even aboard. These musicians are not only known for their music but also regarded as fashion icon by youngsters. Passes for the event will be available at Hiyo Café. The organizer has invited people from all ages to come and enjoy the musical and dance event and buffet.
