Insufficient planning results in man made disaster: IRCS

Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Dimapur district branch on Friday visited and distributed relief materials in the areas hit by Thursday night heavy downpour and subsequent water logging. The Red Cross team visited Zeliangrong Village, Sachu Colony, Rio Colony, SP Colony Delhouze colony, Kherolie Colony in Half Nagarjan Area.
The team observed that insufficient planning of sewage and storm water drainage system, poor civic sense of resident in dumping solid waste in drainage system and poor monsoon preparedness of municipal body has resulted in the man made disaster.
The team appealed to authority in charge to take necessary steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents. Red Cross Team later distributed relief materials to the affected residents in Sachu Colony, Zeliangrong village and Rio colony.
