Acting and drama needs more time and effort, but for the youth of Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) it was only a matter of days. The youngsters drawn from eight fellowships under DABA demonstrated and produced their real emotion which drew a huge round of applause from the audience on the concluding day of the workshop on acting and drama on Saturday. Altogether 15 youth took part in the 10-days workshop on acting and drama organized by Dimapur Ao Baptist Church youth ministry. Surprised by their performance and emotions displayed by the youngsters, trainer Bendangtemsu Walling a 3rd year student from National School of Drama, Delhi said at a certain point of time, the artists in a play or drama have to undergo emotions, and marvelled at how these youngsters produced real emotions without any complexity. “It was unexpected from my part, but from the third day onward, they picked up the right note, came to know each other, and performed professionally”, he said. Terming the 10-days training as a wonderful experience, Bendangtemsu admitted he had gained a lot of knowledge from the youngsters. Youth director Dimapur Ao Baptist Church, Jongshimanen, excited over the wonderful display without any glitch said, the youngsters have proven that everyone can excel in any field with determination. Pointing out that youngsters have expressed their real emotion clearly during the short period, he said “We should not be anxious in any field we choose and it is time Naga people come out of their nutshell”.
