It was a far cry from the pomp and ceremony of the Royal wedding in April but then it was the groom’s third time tying the knot. Earl Spencer, the brother of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, and his bride, charity worker Karen Gordon, wed in private. And instead of the rafts of official photos of his nephew Prince William and his wife Kate, just one shot was publicly released. The newly married earl did not exactly look delighted after the ceremony in the posed picture alongside his stunning bride. The pair married in an intimate ceremony at the Spencer family home, Althorp in Northamptonshire, where Diana is buried. There was a passing resemblance between the bride’s dress and Kate Middleton’s – she also wore fitted lace but with a more daring plunging v-neck and held a tumbling bouquet of white and cream flowers. Her long brunette hair was worn loose and a pair of a pair of delicate pearl earrings shone out from underneath her slightly curled style. A spokesman said the couple had a private wedding, which was attended by only close family and friends. Earl Spencer, who wore a navy pinstripe suit, shirt and navy patterned tie for his nuptials, announced his engagement to Miss Gordon in February. The Canadian is the founder of the Whole Child International charity. Earl Spencer, who has worked as a journalist and an author, has been married twice before. Earl Spencer was romantically linked to Lady Bianca Eliot last year. Miss Gordon has two daughters and was married to Hollywood producer Mark Gordon. It is understood the pair split in 2003. The former fashion model set up her charity after the divorce. Whole Child International works to improve care for orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children from around the world.
