The Naga Christian Fellowship Guwahati (NCFG) is organizing a musical concert at ITA Centre for Performing Arts, Machkhowa, Guwahati on June 29 from 5pm onwards. “Nagaland Singing Ambassadors” would be performing in this concert. Nagaland Singing Ambassadors (NSA) comprises of trained Musicians drawn from various choirs in Nagaland. The membership to the group is invitational and exclusively reserved for singers with experience and commitment for choral music. The mission of the choir is to facilitate a platform to gifted musicians: to congregate, share ideas, develop potentials, and render performance and scholarship to the north-east community and Churches and beyond. Since its inception in March this year, under the leadership of Lipokmar Tzudir, the choir has already performed at numerous prestigious festivals in the country and invitation to perform abroad have been received. The choir performs a wide repertoire of Western classical, Folk, Naga Choral, Popular, Spirituals, and Broadway. Lipokmar Tzudir, the choirmaster, is considered by critiques in the country as ‘one of the finest Choral conductors of India’. With a Masters degree in Music from the University of Sheffield, UK, he holds a wide experience of directing renowned choirs that includes: Holme Valley Singers (England: 2007-2009), IECA Choir (Philippines: 2002- 2005), Patkai Chorale (2009-2010). Besides Nagaland Singing Ambassadors, he currently conducts Mokokchung Chancel Choir and the Patkai Alumni Singers. He is a recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi’s ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ in the creative arts category for excellence in Choral music. Besides performances, he conducts workshops, seminars, and choral clinics in the country and abroad.
