Dispatch drill ceremony of newly enrolled candidates was held at Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Rangapahar on Monday. Over 200 candidates from Nagaland are being registered into army in the month of June and almost equal numbers are being recruited quarterly. Speaking at the ceremony as chief guest, L Singsit, special secretary (Home) government of Nagaland said armed forces today offer excellent career opportunity to youth to serve the motherland and grow as professional soldiers and officers. He exhorted the new recruits saying that quality of life and professional environment provided in the army would shape them as the finest citizens in the country. Speaking on the recruitment procedure, he said the selection procedure adopted by the army for recruitment was fair and transparent while being competitive at the same time. “Our endeavor should be to motivate the youth of Nagaland to prepare well and participate in the rallies to join the army” said Singsit. He also said the state government has been receiving proposals from the army recruiting organization relating to recruitment in the state and that the government was committed to implement the proposals by making a concerted effort to enhance awareness of the youth regarding recruitment rally schedules which would broaden their career opportunities. He encouraged the youth to join army as officers and said that Sainik school at Punglwa has proven to be an excellent stepping stone for joining the army as officers and requested parents to prepare and motivate their children to join army. Further, he advised the recruits to serve in the army with loyalty and dedication. It may be mentioned that 56 candidates were recruited and the ceremony was attended by army officers, parents and civilians.
