One person sustained minor injury when a rifle belonging to the security guard of Axis bank, circular road, Dimapur, identified as Sani Kaikho accidentally went off at the bank premises on Saturday around 2 p.m.
According to ASI, T. Angami who was present at the spot, the incident happened when another security guard was closing the door of the passenger seat (Tata Sumo) and Kaikho’s rifle which was placed on seat went off due to its impact, hitting one pedestrian on the abdomen besides damaging the front portion of a Maruti car belonging to the bank that was parked outside. The injured identified as Bopan, sustained minor scratch in the abdomen. He was admitted to Shamrock Hospital, Duncan and discharged after administering medical aid.
However, a case was not registered as both the parties arrived at an understanding later in the evening, informed police. The vehicle belonging to the bank was carrying staff of G4S cash services and two guards on duty after remitting money at ATMs in Diphupar, Purana Bazar and Kalibari branch.
