He came under fire from his stepdaughter last month after releasing a photograph of his seriously ill wife Zsa Zsa Gabor.
But now Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt is defending himself against claims by Francesca Hilton that he ‘exploited’ Zsa Zsa.
‘I really do not care what Francesca says to the papers. I’m protected by Californian law. I can do what I want,’ he said.
Francesca, 64, who is the daughter of Zsa Zsa’s second husband – hotel tycoon Conrad Hilton – lashed out after Frederic posed for a photograph with his frail 94-year-old wife as they toasted his 68th birthday with champagne.
The pictures were released just three weeks after Zsa Zsa came out of a coma.
She said: ‘He releases photos of my mother in unflattering situations without hair and make-up, two things that were so important to her.’
But Frederic says that Francesca’s claims, which included comments that she has been banned from seeing her mother for eight weeks, are untrue.
The legendary actress is being nursed back to health at the mansion. The house was recently put on the market at $15m and its patio area boasts views across Los Angeles, while a first-floor recreation room with bar was apparently designed by former owner Elvis Presley.
Frederic, who has been married to Zsa Zsa since 1986, said she is not fit for visitors and only the faint sounds of a television from behind her bedroom door indicated her presence.
