Wokha, Mon DPDB meeting held

Monthly DPDB meeting of Wokha district was held on July 15 at DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Y. Patton, Parliamentary Secretary & Chairman DPDB Wokha.
The meeting began with a review of last DPDB meeting minutes. A report of the district education committee for improvement of HSLC result was presented to the Board by R.E Lotha DHO, Convenor and various recommendations for the same were also deliberated. The urgent need of maths and science teachers in government school in Wokha district was also taken up.
The Board also entrusted Anthony Ngullie ADC Wokha to take over as the Convenor of Wokha District Education Committee, which was affected due to the transfer of the then Convenor. Renchamo Odyuo DEO Evaluation will replace Vyasan IAS ADC Wokha who is also transferred out.
Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry highlighted and briefed the basic of IT importance in governance.
Re-organisation of RD Blocks of Wokha district was also deliberated. Project Director, DRDA presented the proposal and explained various criteria involved for bifurcation, reorganisation or creation of RD Blocks and the parameters to be followed while adopting the proposal. Thereafter, the proposal for reorganiation of Wokha Block, Ralang Block, Wuzhuro Block, Chukitong Block, Sanis Block, Bhandari Block and Champang Block were approved.
The house declared Wokha town road from NST Colony to PWD Colony as ‘clean zone’. Maintenance of roads has begun and has directed all concerned to maintain cleanliness. Board approved for dismantling of old Rest House for parking area and also recommended the standing order to do away with all stray dogs in the town with immediate effect.
MON: Monthly Mon DPDB meeting was held at DC’s conference hall on July 15 with deputy commissioner & vice chairman Mon DPDB, Dinesh Kumar as chairperson. The house deliberated on important agendas on proposal for creation of new RD Block in Aboi, Angjangyang and Hunta, grant-in-aid to Monyakshu High School and creation of new DIS Office in Tizit circle. Chairman briefly highlighted the Census of 2011 and pointed out that Mon district has the lowest literacy rate sex ratio.
Also highlighting the Officers Club activities he requested the members to continue in giving their support and co-operation towards club maintenance and also to avail the facilities provided by the club.
Meanwhile ADC (Planning) briefed the House about sports scenario of Mon district and that selected badminton players would represent Mon district in all category at the up-coming inter district badminton tournament to be held at Tuensang. District Statistical Officer presented the activities and functions of the Department.
