State government on Monday urged the state level committee under secretary, Higher Education department, to inspect Indian Institute of Paramedical Institute (IIPT) Kohima and Institute of Management and Medical Research Health Science (IMMRHS) Dimapur and if found satisfactory, recommend the institutes to Indian Nursing Council for recognition. This was decided during a meeting called by chief secretary Lalthara and attended by IIPT, IMMRHS, Higher Education and medical department.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, Lalthara said both medical department and higher education would go out of their way to give recognition to the institute from Indian Nursing Council. On the issue of attachment of the institutes with hospitals, Lalthara further informed that medical department was urged to sign a MoU with the two institutes to enable students to get practical training from government hospitals.
