Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) organized a workshop on innovative manual handicraft from July 26 – 29 at Noklak Town Hall.
K. Pakhao national awardees on handicraft was the resource person.
Various innovative items were focused at the training which included fine weave, towel holders, napkin stands and basketry etc.
The trainees were also trained on traditional dyeing and preservation during the four-day long workshop.
Altogether, nine handicraft villages participated at the training.
The department organized the workshop with an aim to promote importance of bamboo and its products to the rural people.
The Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency has expressed gratitude to participants from various villages, administration for their support and contribution towards the training.
It may be mentioned that bamboo is the fastest growing and highest yielding renewable natural resources found extensively all over the state, and constitutes one of the most important resources of Nagaland.
