Puliebadze Club Jotsoma (PCJ) with the motto ‘Service and Sacrifice’ observed its 39th foundation day at ‘Lovers’ Paradise’ Jotsoma (Mejütsu) on Monday with Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, chairman, NKVIB & advisor, music task force (MTF) as the chief guest.
In his address chief guest, Dr. Nicky lauded Puliebadze Club Jotsoma for the commendable task taken up for the betterment of the society and taking active role in sanitation drive etc. He said buildings under construction by Music Task Force (MTF), Youth Resources and Sports department at their village was to explore talent of the youth in music and asked them to make use of the facilities after its completion.
He also appreciated the Club, which initially had 15 members and gradually increased to two hundred plus members, adding it was a sign of growth and progress.
In his presidential address, Er. Rokozhalie Gwirie said the club was established in the year 1973 with 15 members, mainly consisting of school drop-outs and “idle group of youth” with picnics arranged at ‘Lovers’ Paradise’.
Highlighting some of the activities undertaken by PCJ, the president said that one of the major changes before the Club at the initial stages was banning the sale of IMFL and gambling within the jurisdiction of Jotsoma village.
Other activities carried out by the Club include promotion of games and sports, tree plantation, sanitation, free medical camp, preserving historical places, visiting jail, hospital, orphanage etc., he added. A one-minute silence was observed in remembrance of the Club members who expired. Earlier, Lhousarovi Rino, chaired the function, while the invocation prayer pronounced by Pastor Sazoto Nakhro.
Special song was presented by Pelemeno Peseyie & Co, while Kersalie Nakhro gave the secretary’s report and vote of thanks by Pralhu Nagi.
The programme was attended by Club members, village council members, village elders & G.B., donors and well wishers.
