The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), department of Platinum Jubilee Environment & Sanitation Committee has appreciated the de-centralized sanitation service in the state capital, jointly launched by the KMC and Kohima DPDB recently.
The committee expressed hope that through this service, the citizens of Kohima and colony panchayats would take active role in keeping the colony and city clean. The committee has congratulated Chandmari Panchayat for making the colony dustbin free zone and high school area colony and Nagabazar colony for keeping their colony clean.
In view of NBCC Platinum Jubilee on April 19-22 2012, environment and sanitation committee would initiate education and awareness programme in schools and colleges about civic sense.
Under this programme, Baptist churches would be organizing sanitation Sunday with a social work to be held twice along with KMC, KCCI, KBYF, Kohima district administration and colonies’ Panchayat. The committee in this regard urged the public to participate in making Kohima town a greener and cleaner place to live in.
