A meeting on work distribution for the forthcoming Indian Independence Day 2011 at Mon Headquarter was held at DC’s conference hall, Mon.
The meeting was chaired by new deputy commissioner, Mon Angau I Thou. While welcoming government officials, NGOs and the principals/head masters of various schools and department under Mon district, Angau also sought suggestions from the gathering, adding the district administration cannot march ahead alone.
To ensure mass participation of government employees during the Independence Day celebration, she appealed to HoDs of the district to maintain one attendance records of their respective staff and submit to the ADC-I for necessary action.
Emphasizing on green and clean environment of the district she informed that DC office staff would be conducting a cleanliness drive on August 8 from 6am onward, she asked the gathering to submit the old National Flag and replace with a new flag.
Meanwhile, the district statistical officer, Mon Tongmeth has informed that the department would issue birth and death certificate free of cost to all children below five years during the Independence Day celebration. Longyim Tzudir, district programme officer, district AIDS prevention and control unit, Mon also informed that voluntary testing and counseling on HIV and AIDS would be held at the venue of the celebration to mark the occasion.
Manlip, advisor & coordinator, MTC said ward-wise cleanliness drive has already started in the town and that the best ward/colony would be awarded.
Rehearsal for the contingents would begin from August 9 and SP Mon would be detailing the timing for the rehearsal. A mass social work would also be held on August 12 at Mon headquarter. All work assignment should be completed on or before August 14. SP Mon was given the responsibility for overall in-charge of the security.
