The Sangyuchung Range Union (SRU) has condemned the pitiable road condition between Khudei- Noksen road, lying untouched for years and causing untold hardship to the people of its areas.
According to the president, executive chairman and advisor, Komachingmak, S. Khoney and Chaba Chang, the road was constructed way back in the late 1970’s by the PWD department and so far there has been no improvement.
Despite repeated appeals made by the union to the department in-charge for proper road communication, the union said the department turned down their plea in spite of Sangyuchung Range Union contributing `5, 000 each per village under Sangyuchung range to maintain the road on its own volition.
SRU questioned the government as to whether the fund for maintaining of road between Khudei-Noksen was sanctioning and wondered where all the money have gone if it has been sanctioned.
SRU further demanded the government and the department in-charge to immediately clarify in order to avoid confusion amongst the public.
The union also stated that they would no longer tolerate such “step- motherly treatment” on far flung areas and stated it will take it own course of action if the government or the department fails to respond to its demand at the earliest.
Observing the grievances and difficulties faced by the general public, MLA 51 A/C, H. Chuba Chang had contributed `1. Lakh with JCB towards the union for maintaining of the road, added the SRU.
The union further appreciated the MLA, H Chuba Chang for his immense contribution towards the union.
