Department of horticulture state government sponsored a week-long farmers exposure trip to New Delhi to participate in 7th India mart food and technology Expo-2011 from July 29 to 31 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The workshop was organised and managed by National News Service media group
Two progressive farmer representatives from all districts of Nagaland were part of the team led by Dileu Nsa, horticulture inspector, Talimeren and Imnuksungba, horticulture extension assistant.
This expo is being held for the seventh time in a row yielding results and providing excellent platform for agro-based industries, food processing sector, service providers, progressive farmers, consumers and government departments especially agriculture and horticulture in promoting their latest hi-tech innovations.
The department of horticulture along with other participants exhibited a variety of organically produced fruits, vegetables, spices, medicinal and aromatic products, processed pickles etc., where a number of domestic as well as international visitors and delegates appreciated the departmental stall put up by the participants.
For its overall performance, the department received ‘Excellent Achievements’ award from the organizers.
Meanwhile, team members expressed gratitude to department of horticulture for providing a platform to represent and participate in the exhibition where many delegates from both India and abroad showcased the present status and advancements in horticulture sector.
After the exhibition programme, the team of farmers along with the officials also visits famous Agra Fort, the Taj Mahal and other important places and monuments located in Agra and Delhi.
