On the occasion of its 16th foundation day, North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi), Dimapur branch on Tuesday organized a wall painting for creating awareness on global warming in collaboration with Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur at the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Dimapur.

Around 19 students from Class V to X comprising of ten boys and nine girls from Holy Cross Higher Secondary Dimapur participated in the wall painting program accompanied by their teacher Cajetan.
Through the wall paintings, students conveyed the messages of natural resources getting affected by industrialization, deforestation, pollution, dumping of waste materials in water sources and also portrayed means of mitigating global warming to protect the environment and save Mother Earth.

Highlighting the theme ‘global warming’, Hukato Swu lamented that birds that were earlier seen in the premises of  District and Sessions Judge, Dimapur have disappeared because of pollution, deforestation, construction of buildings, industrialization and others.

“We have destroyed their habitat”, he said, adding it was time people should adopt methods to preserve the earth and restore the natural resources.
Speaking to this reporter, Debarshi Bhattacharyya branch manager NEDFi Dimapur said as part of its anniversary celebration, in Assam NEDFi has taken the initiative to clean the Ganeshguri market areas in Guwahati while the remaining northeastern states organized a ‘wall painting’ based on different themes.
