Rejecting the requests for retention of bodyguards, detailed from 3rd NAP, Tuensang by various VIPs, ex-ministers, MLAs and public leaders, the State Police Headquarters Wednesday asked all responsible to release bodyguards attached with them within six days.
A statement released by PHQ Wednesday asserted that 1st NAP Bn and three companies of 2nd NAP have been deployed in Delhi as per ministry of home affairs order since 2008. It stated that as per the seniority of the battalion, the 3rd NAP full battalion and three companies from 2nd NAP would replace the present deployment of 1st NAP and three companies of 2nd NAP. “All VIPs/former ministers/MLAs/public leaders are requested to release the body guards attached with them within six days time in order to make a smooth shifting of the units to Delhi,” the PHQ release stated.
