Shamator village council reacting to the press release issued on August 12 in this daily has refuted that, the village council had any knowledge of the article which was published. Chairman, (VCC) Shamator village K. Wongtsukiu in a press release appealed to the public and government not to treat the news item as genuine, but “null and void”
Meanwhile, Wapher village council (WVC) has issued rejoinder against the news item which was published on August 7 and 10. WVC stated that the news item which was published in the name of its chairman and head GB Wapher village council was totally “forged, bogus and baseless” published by some “vested interest” from Yimchungers.
WVC head GB Toripkiu and Wapher VCC Lajumong in a press release clarified that neither they, nor the Wapher village council had any knowledge of the article that was published as it was completely against WVC. Further, WVC cautioned individuals or organisations not to publish articles by taking its name.
