State government Sunday acceded to the five-point charter of demands of the ENSF relating to redeployment, transfer and posting of teachers in four districts of eastern Nagaland, and requested the federation to call off proposed agitation.
The state chief secretary Lalthara, in a communiqué to ENSF, said the state government has agreed in principle to their five-point charter of demands, and would take necessary steps immediately to implement them on the ground within the shortest possible time.
The government also clarified that recent order/notification of the school education department, regarding regularization/reappointment and posting of teachers who were under SIT probe scanner, had already been kept in abeyance, adding they would not be implemented in future also in its present form.
The chief secretary conveyed to the ENSF that government has also agreed to restore back all the teacher posts that had been transferred out of eastern Nagaland by recruitment boards, to be constituted in each of the four districts, except in case of those teacher posts, such as science and mathematic teachers, where suitable candidates from eastern Nagaland are not available.
In view of the above, the government requested the ENSF to call of agitation and enable state government to start working for fulfillment of the assurances.
ENSF calls off phase-III agitation

MON, AUG 14 (NPN): The ENSF has called off its ongoing agitation with immediate effect after it received written assurance from state government.
ENSF President Hawang T Wangsha while confirming this over phone expressed appreciation to the government for taking up the genuine issue of the eastern Nagaland. The federation expressed hope that state government would implement them immediately as assured.
Meanwhile, the federation has expressed gratitude to district administrations and the police, all federating units, volunteers and the general public for their cooperation throughout the agitation.
