With the monsoon at its peak, the road leading to Motsuo Memorial Hospital (civil hospital, Wokha) Sub-Jail Wokha, Bailley Baptist College, Don Bosco School, Isaiah Ability School has been completely cut off as the bridge was washed away by the river since a month ago and “left untouched”.
According to Vungoju Colony Youth Forum (VCYF) Wokha, president, Elithung Kikon and general secretary Yanithung Ezung, the people, particularly doctors and patients, students, lecturers and teachers has been “victimized”, adding the authority in-charge has failed to “catch the picture”.
While expressing its dismay over the discrepancies caused, despite the presence of the Civil Hospital filled with patients, VCYF said “it is a matter of time where ones Life can be saved or declared dead in case of emergency” with the road needing “due attention”.
VCYF also said the road was a lifeline for villages like Pongitong, the sole road connecting to Wokha town and suggested it would be “gracious” if the authority in-charge look into the matter at the earliest or conduct “courtesy repair” so that people can resume their normal life without any delay
The union further appealed to all responsible individuals to kindly cooperate and extend their help incase of any developmental work to be done in regard to the road.
