A hoax bomb created panic in the state capital Monday after Police recovered a bomb type module near New NST area Kohima. The bomb tied in one of the PHED water pipeline, on the steps that leads to Khuchiezie from NST, was reportedly cited by one of the alert passerby in the early hour around 6 a.m. According to police, the bomb module consisted of a mobile battery, integrated circuit plate, switch, wire and an aerial that was inside a plastic casing.
However, no explosive material/substance and detonator was attached to the bomb apparatus, police said. The state police Bomb Disposal Squad studied the apparatus and made a quick recce of the area but could not find any explosive type connected to the circuit. Hence, the bomb experts manually disposed it to avoid further commotion and panic. Meanwhile, police is contemplating to reward cash incentives to passerby citizen who informed the Police about the discovery of the bomb like apparatus.
