A tribute to ‘Journey’ concert today

‘Journey’, was part of one of the most important chapter in the history of rock music.
‘Journey’, an American rock band formed in 1973 in San Francisco, by former members of Santana has gone through several phases; its strongest commercial success occurred between the late 1970s and 1987, when it temporarily disbanded.
During that period, they released a series of hit songs, including 1981’s “Don’t Stop Believin”.
The band enjoyed a successful reunion in the mid-1990s, and later regrouped with a series of lead singers.

Now, a group of ‘Journey’ fans in Mokokchung have come together to celebrate and perform on stage belting out popular ‘Journey’ hits on the evening of August 19 at Town Hall Mokokchung.
The concert titled “A tribute to Journey” is organized by Tembar Reju where renowned musicians of the town will gather to perform about 15 hit songs of ‘Journey’.

The line up of the band for the tribute concert include Imtiyanger, Matang and Purkumzuk on vocals, Tiayanger on guitar, Imsu Jamir on bass, Ali Imsong on keyboard and Asung Jamir on drums.
At an informal press meeting Wednesday, members of Tembar Reju as well as the house band informed that the concert will feature songs by ‘Journey’, adding it would be a celebration of the band, who, according to them, have a played an important chapter in the history of rock music. They also disclosed song titles that they will be performing at the concert – “Lights’”, “Don’t Stop Believin”, “Faithfully”, “When you love a woman” etc.

The fans of ‘Journey’ are in for a real treat this Friday as professional musicians will be playing some great songs of ‘Journey’ which will be an evening not to be missed.
Entry to the hall will start from 5:30pm onwards at `100 flat for all seats.
