Englan Range Students’ Union (ERSU) organized an educational tour at its range on August 11. The tour was led by its president Elithung Tungoe, Federating Units and accompanied by KSU information & publicity secretary Limhathung Shitiri.
Taking note of various grievances faced by the government schools under its range, the union informed that while interacting with students’ and teachers, it was found that Government High School Englan was functioning without science, language (MIL) and English teachers. Moreover, infrastructures of the school were not well equipped due to shortage of fund and most of the Government primary School was also running without adequate teaching staff, added ERSU.
ERSU also pointed out that Middle School at Changsu and Yikhum did not have examination centre and that the students’ had to walk 5-6kms to Old Riphyim village to appear exams.
Expressing concern over the problems faced by the students’ community, ERSU urged education department to look into the matter at the earliest.
ERSU further, requested all heads and staff of educational institutions and PHCs to be more sincere in their duties.
Meanwhile, the union acknowledged parliamentary secy. geology & mining, irrigation, flood control and border affairs Y. Patton, for undertaking the construction of Yikhum, Riphyim, Changsu Road i.e (YRC6) and bringing all round development at its Range. ERSU also thanked village chairmen, VDB secretaries, president KSU Subenthung Kithan, Yanthungo Ezung, Felix Patton, Mhao Ngully for their support.
