Accused Bekuto a.k.a. Beto, who was arrested August 18 in connection with alleged rape and murder of a 20-year-old girl, Avino of Kirha village July 21, Monday attempted to flee but was rearrested, police said.
According to police, the accused was taken to Civil Hospital Dimapur for examination wherein he escaped through the ventilation of the washroom. However, he was caught after few hours from somewhere around PWD Colony Dimapur, police said.]
Also, talking to Nagaland Post, a doctor at Civil Hospital, Dimapur confirmed the incident and said two to three police personnel of women cell along with a policeman arrived at the hospital for semen test. When the accused was directed to the washroom to take a sample he escaped from there. The accused is currently under the custody of Women cell, Dimapur.
