With the ever-increasing number of vehicles in Mokokchung town and to bring down traffic problem in the town to a certain level, the police department along with traffic police personnel put up 150 metal boards in the town.
The boards would indicate signs of restricting or allowing for parking of vehicles in different locations as well as sign boards that indicate public places such as schools, market place etc. where vehicles need to slow down.
According to an official bulletin, the work was carried out with an expense of around `2 lakhs, which was collected amongst the personnel and traffic police, Mokokchung.
