Commissioner and secretary (work and housing), Government of Nagaland, Temjen Toy IAS said one must always be prepared in life as it played a vital role in shaping one’s future.
Speaking at the foundation of Corner Stone Higher Secondary School (CSHSS) on Saturday as chief guest, the commissioner and secretary said that one needed to be prepared to come up in life and called upon students not to be distracted by worldly distraction but to concentrate in their studies.
He said it was time for students especially those in higher classes to prepare for their future, adding it was important to become someone in future.
Expressing happiness for being part of the occasion, the commissioner and secretary lauded the managing board and faculty of the school for facilitating all round development to students. He said the school not only stressed on academics but also curricular activities that help in shaping the life of students.
The chief guest was also accompanied by his wife Rovikhonuo.
Delivering a speech on behalf of parents, T. Amri, Ebenenezer Orphanage Home stressed on the responsibilities of teachers, students and parents. He asked the parents not to blame teachers when students fail to do well in studies, as their duty was to shape the child.
He also called upon teachers to love their students as their own and carry out their responsibilities accordingly.
The occasion was marked by cultural presentation by the Cultural Club of CSHSS, special song by the school kids, welcome address by Dr. Sashimeren Aier, managing Board, CSHSS, invocation by Temsuwati, pastor Ao Baptist Church, Borlengri, vote of thanks, Imchameren, administrator, CSHHS and benediction by Tsuyimla.
The programme was well attended by parents, school managing board members, teachers, students and well wishers.
The programme was followed by entertainment presented by the students of the school.
