The Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) has appreciated the signatories of the Naga Concordant under the aegis of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation – “A Journey of Common Hope” for taking note of the appeal made by KCCI to the national workers and NGOs to refrain from collecting donations during this festive season.
While lauding the joint statement issued by leaders of the NSCN/GPRN, NNC/FGN & GPRN/NSCN, to “Jointly fight against rampant collection of tax, kidnapping, abduction, threats, intimidation, rape and other social evils” and also “to take stringent measures against its own cadres involved in criminal acts which are detrimental to the orderly pursuit of the Naga national cause”, KCCI also extended support to “such a venture to eliminate social evils which have been eating away the morale of the people as a whole and even destroying the spirit of our own nationalism”.
It further hoped the signatories of the “Naga Concordant” would make every effort to implement this decision in letter and spirit and enable the people of Nagaland to “enjoy the very spirit of Christmas as we also eventually prepare to enter the New Year of 2012 with renewed hopes and dreams”.
