Asserting that state government has failed to frame service rules for the ministerial staff of the sub-ordinate courts of Nagaland, the All Nagaland Judicial Ministerial Staff Association (ANJMSA) has served an ultimatum on the state government, cautioning to launch peaceful agitation if the government failed to respond within a month.

In a letter, dated Dec 14, 2011, addressed to the state chief secretary, the ANJMSA president Dietholie Chadi said there have been clear directions issued to the government for framing of service rules by Supreme Court as well as High Court, and also representations submitted by ANJMSA on several occasions, but government failed to take any steps so far.

According to ANJMSA the service rules of judicial officers have already been framed and implemented but the service rules of the staff of judiciary was “still being ignored”, which it asserted amounted to “clear discrimination” to the employees of the subordinate courts of Nagaland.

“Therefore, we have no option except to protest through peaceful agitation if the government does not respond within a month’s time,” stated the ANJMSA.
