State Bank of India to set up 100 more ATMs this year

State Bank of India Tuesday opened its 67th Automated Teller Machine (ATM) booth in Nagaland here at Mokokchung. The booth located at Sewak Gate, Mokokchung was inaugurated by Home minister Imkong L Imchen, in the presence of R.K Garg, chief general manager State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle at an impressive function.

Speaking at the program, the Chief General Manager R.K Garg said Nagaland being a big state; SBI had a great responsibility to play in the state.

During the program, CGM also announced the opening of second regional business office at Mokokchung that would cater to the financial aspects of six districts in northern Nagaland that included Mon, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Longleng Wokha and Zunheboto.

It is to be noted that SBI have only one regional office located in Dimapur that looks after the entire state. He expressed hope that through the opening of this office at Mokokchung, a lot of business activity would be carried out.

He also added that the SBI was planning to increase ATM in the state to 100 in the financial year.
State Home Minister Imkong L Imchen in his speech appreciated the efforts of SBI in the state which has been the major bank for all plan as well as non-plan financial activities.

The minister also acknowledged the efforts of the bank in opening its second regional office at Mokokchung and on behalf of Mokokchung, the minister thanked the SBI saying that it was a huge privilege not only for the people of Mokokchung but also for the northern part of Nagaland.

He especially credited these efforts to the CGM R.K Garg and further said the SBI should continue to maintain the trust of the people. The program was attended by host of SBI officials besides village council members of Ungma led by its chairman, district administration and police.
