Nagaland would be transformed from the old system of informing animals’ diseases to the new computerized technology under National Animal Disease Reporting System (NADRS) project.
Dr. Hathungo Lotha jt. director V&AH said this while addressing the inaugural session of one-day state level workshop on NADRS at Zonal council hall Kohima organized by department of national informatics centre (NIC) Nagaland and Department of veterinary & Animal husbandry.
Dr. Hathungo said under NADRS project the government of India has connected about 7100 veterinary institutions of the country. The project aimed to connect all the animal disease diagnostic laboratories (ADDLs) and it was a gigantic task of intranet web connection, said the Jt. director.
He said farmers with this facility can report the outbreak of animals’ diseases over SMS, email etc to prevent further spreading and to control in time.
However, he expressed dismay over the poor connectivity of BSNL service in the offices and remote areas as these facilities solely depend on it.
Earlier Kemvu Elah PSA, NIC, said the welcomed address and the programme was chaired Dr. Kipfelie Rio jt. director V&AH. Apao M. Rhezhu SSA, state coordinator, NADRS, NIC, Nagaland gave a presentation on overview of NADRS through slide show.
