A house belonging to one Phyanyamo Murry of Wokha Village was razed down to ashes at around 10:45 am, Saturday, and was believed to have been caused by an electric short circuit.
The victim, Phyanyamo’s tenant identified as Yanpo Kikon runs a lottery counter near main Police Point Wokha Town. According to Police, properties worth approximately Rs. 2 lakhs were totally burned including a computer set, fridge, TV, heater and kitchen items.
One cylinder also burst at the inferno; so far no any casualty was reported at the time of filling this report.
Fire brigade Wokha, 41 AR, Police, district administration, YAWD volunteers, residents, NGO’s and public helped in bringing the fire under control.
