Naga Hoho (NH) led by its speaker, H.K Zhimomi and few other colleagues visited Aggrieved Teachers’ Association of Nagaland (ATAN) members who were on the seventh day of dry hunger strike at DEO office on Tuesday.

The Naga Hoho in a press release issued by vice president Inaka Assumi and general secretary P.Chuba Ozukum questioned the credibility of the minister in-charge as to why he was toying with “precious lives and human sentiments”.

Stating it was high time to identify the genuine demand which was negotiable, Naga Hoho said the school education should be manned by a “man of integrity with sound mind and high academic qualification without considering creed, caste or tribes in near future”.

With regard to the ever increasing agitations and allegations from various stratums against the activities and functioning in the education department, the Hoho said such happenings only spoke volumes of the deep rooted “malpractices and irregularities” since the past many years, and demanded the “erring officials” both present and past be exposed in order to safeguard the future generation.

The Hoho further said the state cabinet should be firm in their decision while resolving issues without further “procrastination”.
