John W. Schlitt, the four time Grammy Award winning artist after a mega concert at Wokha on June 30, performed at IMC Hall at Dimapur on July 3.
Though the concert was delayed for two-hours, about a hundred plus John Schlitt fans gathered at IMC Hall were not let down by the singer who was accompanied by Sosang Longkumer the much acclaimed guitarist from Dimapur and Mhasave Tetseo from Kohima, the recent winner of the acoustic guitar contest organized by Furtados.
Another interesting change was that John along with the house band went all out on an acoustic set.
A relatively unknown artist but a talented Temjen Ozukum from Dimapur was the drummer for the event, and Mhathung Odyuo, one of Nagaland’s best bass guitarists also known as the first Indian to do an online tutorial on how to play bass also joined the band.
John Schilitt along with the group of musicians from Dimapur and Kohima belted out ‘More than a Thousand words’ from Petra’s 1995 Grammy-nominated album ‘No Doubt’, ‘I am on the Rock’ and ‘St. Augustine’s Pears’ (God Fixation, 1998).
