House damaged by storm in Kohima

A retaining wall collapsed during heavy downpour Saturday night at around 11 pm, damaging a private resident belonging to one Rokuobeilie at Lower Chandmari Colony, Kohima.

The building which was occupied by two families on rent however escaped without any harm.
Panchayat Lower Chandmari Colony Chairman John Kath and secretary Yari Longkumer appreciated the administration led by deputy commissioner Kohima, SDO and JE South Division R&B and officer in charge of South Police Station, Kohima for their prompt action and paying visit to the spot Sunday morning to ascertain the incident and assessing the situation.

The Panchayat also lauded the prompt visit by PS of local MLA and Chiechama Union Kohima and those who extended possible help at the time of the crisis.

The colony Panchayat also requested for immediate relief to be provided to the affected tow or three families.
While appreciating R&B department official for taking up improvement of road at the sinking area near St Joseph School, Lower Chandmari, the Colony Panchayat further requested the authority to take all necessary measures to make sure that connectivity to the colony was maintained.
