In connection with the news report “2 held for collecting illegal DMC tax” published Saturday, VK Range Students’ Union (VKRSU) has clarified that the alleged collectors– Kheto Aye s/o Akikhe Aye & Khehoto Assumi s/o Hatovi Assumi were not residents of the VK town.
In a statement, VKRSU president Inaka N Assumi and finance secretary Toino Wokha said there were no such persons residing at VK Town. It further warned any person(s) committing such acts and wrongly claiming to be VK Town resident(s) would be dealt with “severely” in future.
