National Highway-202, between Yahkor and Saddle (Tuensang to Kiphire) has been hit by heavy landslides causing road blockade. Passengers from both the sides had to return as the vehicles were unable to pass through the area due to heavy landslides. One of the villagers of that area said that the landslide has not only blocked the road but has caused immense hardship and sufferings to the people.
When contacted, SDO 111, PWD, NH-202 Shamator Thursday said that the department has provided JCB at the site for clearance and the work was in full progress.
It maybe mentioned that neighbouring villagers had also volunteered to clear the area. Affected villagers along the highway have urged responsible authorities to take appropriate measures at the earliest so that the entire stretch of road was safe for travel as it also was the lifeline of the people living there.
