Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) has expressed displeasure over the absence of assistant professor, political science and assistant professor, history of Mt. Tiyi College ever since they were posted and demanded for immediate transfer of the duo.
A letter addressed to the commissioner and secretary, higher education appended by its president, Subenthung Kithan and general secretary Amos Odyuo stated that KSU had a meeting with the college principal, staff, college students’ union and had also checked the attendance of the duo and found that not a single class was taken in the current year.
Kyong Students’ Union alleged that highly respected assistant professors were drawing their salary and providing quality education to their children in prestigious institutions while on the other hand, “suppressing and neglecting” students from “economically unsound family” studying in a government institution.
KSU urged the higher authority to immediately transfer the two assistant professors from Mt. Tiyi College and replace with them with a person of “high moral integrity” and a responsible teacher who has a caliber of imparting quality education to the students. KSU further reminded it would not be held responsible if the situation “get out of its grip.”
