Two unidentified bodies (female), suspected to be Nagas, were found in two separate locations in Assam Wednesday morning, police said.
According to Mokokchung police, one body was found about 4 km away from Mariani towards Titabor in Assam, under Mariani police jurisdiction, while the other was found under Titabor police jurisdiction.
Police said the identities of the deceased were yet to be ascertained and that bodies were kept at Mariani police station for further investigation. Mokokchung police has informed the public to contact OC PS-I Mokokchung (0369-2226241) in case of any missing persons.
Further, police said pictures of the deceased would be published in local media from Wednesday morning for the purpose of identification. Investigating authorities were still clueless about the identity of the deceased till the filing this report.
Meanwhile, sources disclosed to Nagaland Post that though the bodies bore no injury marks, the hands, legs and neck of the deceased of both the victims had rope marks adding that bodies were reportedly in semi-nude condition.
