A special coordination meeting was held at Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., Tuli (Mokokchung District) on August 9. The meeting was attended by H.K. Khulu, APC & principal secretary, Amardeep S. Bhatia, commissioner & secretary (Forest), Khrienuo C. Metha, team leader NBDA.
This initiative was taken by government to revive the paper mill and foster production at the earliest. It may be mentioned that Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Ltd. is a joint venture between Hindustan paper Corporation Ltd. and the government of Nagaland and was established in the year 1971, primarily to exploit the abundant bamboo resources in Nagaland.
The main objective of the NPPC is to promote, establish, execute and run industries, projects or enterprises for manufacturing, selling and export of paper and pulp.
Additional secretary (agriculture), Sahjang Doungel, ADC, Tuli, Amenba Yaden, conservator of forest along with the team members from Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency Alemba Longkumer, Amongla C, Lipokchuba Jamir, Kijung Phom and Dr. Tolto Metha also attended the meeting.
