Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has decided to carry out the detection of illegal migrants within its jurisdiction from September 19 to 22. The drive would be undertaken by respective affiliated units within their jurisdictions complying with the modalities and terms framed by CSU.
The Chakhesang Students’ Union in its first presidential council meeting held at Hotel Cimorb, Kohima unanimously voted to implement its earlier stand dated September 1.
In a statement, CSU general secretary Seve Vadeo said that as part of fulfilling North East Students’ Organization’s (NESO) directive to assess the number of “non-locals” residing in Northeast “with or without specific purpose”, the union decided to check and make sure that illegal Bangladeshis do not pose as a threat to the younger Naga generation.
